Thank you for your interest in Legacy Trust, the charitable trust responsible for distributing the profits from Legacy Funerals. Funding to community groups has now reached over $500,000 since Legacy Funerals was gifted to the community by Greg Brownless late in 2007 (click here to read the full story).

Funding Applications:

There is no formal process for funding applications - recommendations come from both supporters of the Legacy concept and known community needs.

Funding Scope:

In principle, we do not fund salaries, wages, rents or travel. We prefer to fund items required by organisations or individuals on a donation or loan basis. With so many worthy causes in our community we are unable to fund them all.

Funding Levels:

There is no upper or lower limit of funding - instead each gift is determined by need and the availability of funds to distribute.

Funding Requirements:

The Legacy Trust is the sole owner of Legacy Funerals. When families are faced with making funeral arrangements they can choose either a commercial funeral company or Legacy Funerals, a registered charitable company. The very real difference is that all the profits from Legacy are given back to worthwhile causes in this community.

Legacy appreciates recognition of gifts, not because it seeks thanks, but because of the importance of spreading the word about Legacy Funerals and the difference it makes to our community. Legacy and the funds it distributes are totally reliant on people being aware of its services.
