Detour Trust ... says thank you to the families who chose Legacy Funerals.
You may already know that Legacy Funerals channels all its profits back into charities within the Tauranga community, via Legacy Trust. As the grants are distributed the recipients explain the impact the money has had on their charitable efforts:"As well as providing high quality inspirational theatre, the Detour Theatre Trust offers dramatic education to the Tauranga community. Each week we run drama classes for children, youth and adults and we run classes for the intellectually disabled. The classes are especially beneficial for this group as they help to develop communication skills, teamwork, confidence and imagination.
One of our big projects has been restoring the historic building that we operate out of. Built in 1911, it was actually Tauranga's original Baptist Church and it was relocated here to 17th Ave in the 1980's. Recently the building required work to stabilise the foundations so the $10,000 we received from Legacy Trust couldn't have come at a better time. It helped us finish the project and we were also able to repair and upgrade the seating inside the building.
