Tauranga Environment Centre
- $10,000
“The Urban Greenspace Project has grown so significantly over the past two and a half years” said Chris, “that my personal vehicle is no longer suitable. It’s actually limiting the effectiveness and growth of the project. “Thanks to the donation from Legacy Trust the Tauranga Environment Centre is now able to purchase a vehicle that will allow us to access hard to reach areas, as well as eliminate costs around plant delivery and weed removal. It’s fantastic.”
Thank you Legacy Trust

You may already know that Legacy Funerals channels their profits into Legacy Trust, for distribution to local charities.
Following the first lot of grants that were made in 2008, the recipients explain the impact the funds have had on their efforts.
The money we received from the Legacy Trust was used to purchase a ute for the Urban Greenspace Project. Before we had the ute we had to take the plants in the backs of our cars to working bees, which limited the quantity we could take and also how close we could get to the planting sites. Having the ute saves us so much time and it means we can get more plants in the ground. So much so that we’ve managed to plant a record number of nearly 4,000 plants this winter!
Thank you Legacy Trust!
Chris Dench, Urban Greenspace Project Manager.
